Air flotation generates fine air bubbles to remove solids from the waste water surface. These solids are drained off or can be collected for use.
There are two flotation methods: mechanical flotation and overpressure/overpressure relief flotation.
FRINGS immersible TA aerators can only be used for mechanical flotation. They are installed in the front of a rectangular basin or in the middle of a round basin. The aerators require a density of energy of at least 100 W/m3. The basin diameter or the basin width must not exceed the size of diameter A to ensure the generation of tiny air bubbles and allow for a highly turbulent diffusion of the bubbles (rising speed). The retained material is removed by a rotating scraper (round basin) or a chain scraper (rectangular basin).
A mechanical flotation system equipped with FRINGS immersible aerators is installed at the facilities of a German fruit juice producer (round-basin plant).
FRINGS provides the sizing of the immersible aerator and the appropriate flotation plant.
