In a crystallization unit, a large amount of suspended crystals have to be circulated through a tube. The upflow inside the tube lifts the suspended crystals to the end of the tube, from where they circulate downward.
FRINGS offers slow-running propeller pumps designed not to impede the growth of the crystals.
The propeller pumps are used e.g. for the crystallization of inorganic acids in reactors with tube diameters ranging from 850 mm to 1,570 mm. The propeller dimensions are only slightly smaller than the tube diameter. This allows for:
homogeneous cell growth
narrow grain size distribution
low energy circulation.

Sizes
FRINGS propeller pumps are available in 3 sizes. They are also well suited for retrofit and replacement of existing crystallizers.
The pumps allow for the circulation of 3,000 to 8,500 cbm/h suspended crystals, with up to 40 weight % of crystals and a density of 1.2 – 1.3 g/L. They are driven by 11 kW, 22 kW and 30 kW geared motors. The shafts of the pumps flanged beneath the reactor rise up to 1,120 mm into the tubes. They are sealed against the reactor bottom by barrier fluid packings. All parts in contact with the material are made of 1.4306.
