Immersible aerator TRG: an innovative aeration system for biological waste water treatment |
| |
The immersible aerator TRG is an aeration system which works exclusively with pressurized air (i.e. blower or compressor required), or with pressurized pure oxygen. This system is used in activated sludge plants, in SBR plants, and in high-performance reactors.
This new technology achieves excellent oxygen transfer rates in waste water, allowing for treatment of industrial waste water with high BOD loads.
Besides the aerator (own production), FRINGS also supplies the whole range of application technology, including calculations and instructions for use and operation of the system.

The immersible aerator TRG is available with motors ranging from 11 to 90 kW and with oxygen transfer rates from 165 – 666 kg/h (for diameter A). All aerator parts are made of stainless steel 1.4301 (AISI 304). Cast iron motors are protected by high-quality paint.
Operating principle:
The immersible aerator TRG consists of an aerator developed from our immersible aerator TA, and a submersible motor. The immersible aerator operates fully immersed in the liquid standing on the bottom of the basin or tank or hanging closely above it.
The immersible aerator is supplied with pressurized air from an external compressor through an air pipe. At the same time water flows into the aerator, where it is mixed intensely with the air and then discharged radially through the diffuser channels of the stator, allowing direct aeration of diameter A and aeration through circulation of diameter B.
Advantages of the system:
- Fine bubble aeration with high oxygen utilization
- Easy installation and maintenance (in systems with small inlet opening channels can be “folded up”)
- High oxygen transfer rates and output
- Low risk of clogging
- Low noise level
- Absolutely winter proof
- Thorough mixing of the aerated liquid, thus no build-ups at the bottom of the basin
- To be used in water depths of up to 10 m and more
- Complete system also available in acid resistant steel (e.g. for treatment of waste waters with high salt content )
