The absorption of gasses in solutions with or without chemisorption requires large interphase surfaces to provide for efficient mass transfer.
FRINGS high-performance aerators create these interphase surfaces.
FRINGS FRIBORATORS provide for self-aspirating gas transfer, thus allowing for:
- Utilization of technical quality process gasses
- Fine-bubble gas transfer into the wash solution/process solution
- Parallel, residue-free transfer of precipitation products from chemisorption
Process concept
The FRINGS oxidation unit consists of a loop reactor with draft tube, heat exchangers and the high performance aerator FRIBORATOR.
It is suitable for both batch and continuous processes.
The parameters for filling level and flow rate may differ in a wide range due to process requirements.
The wash solution is injected directly into the turbulent mixing zone of the FRIBORATOR; in case of a continuous chemisorption the reaction starts from the injection concentration level.
The oxidized wash solution/process solution leaves the reactor at the tank bottom. Immersible pipes are used for dual-phase mixes.
The aerated solution ascends inside the reactor; the filling level control provides the residence time necessary for gas absorption .
To improve the oxygen utilization the reactor is equipped with a draft tube. This allows for a defined loop flow back into the mixing zone of the aerator.
The yield of the absorption is determined by the exhaust air oxygen concentration. In batch processes the equilibrium is achieved when the oxygen concentration in the exhaust air rises to the saturation value, whereas it becomes stationary for continuous processes.
