FRINGS specializes in those areas of special yeast fermentations that require particular attention to plant-specific, sterile or procedural aspects.

These groups of yeast processes of this category comprise e.g.:

  • Cultivation / propagation of brewery yeasts (culturing or assimilation yeast)
  • production of "savoury" yeasts having specific sensoric characteristics
  • cultivation of carotinoid producing yeasts (e.g. Phaffia rhodozyma)
  • special yeast fermentations for the production of starter cultures
  • fermentation of special yeasts as a catalyst for biotransformations
  • processes with methylotrophic yeasts (e.g. Pichia pastoris or Hansenula polymorpha) for the production of active agents and enzymes

Based on a detailed analysis of the specific requirements of the fermentation,
FRINGS supplies customized fermentation systems and further equipment,
inter alia:

  • Yeast fermenters of the PRORACT B, P and G series with varying fermenter equipment and in different sterile designs
    from 500 mL to 250 m3
  • high-performance aeration systems of FRIBORATOR and TRG types up to 450 kW drive performance
  • mechanical foam centrifuges of FOAMEX build, designed to make the use of anti-foam agents superfluous
  • equipment for up- and downstream
  • process measurement and control devices for process control and regulation
